Spokane Valley CTE Seniors Receive Focus Awards
The annual Focus Awards recognize high school seniors from the Spokane region who exhibit exemplary post-secondary preparation through commendable efforts in their Career & Technical Education programs. Students emphasize how the CTE classes they’ve taken in high school will support their future pathway, their leadership activities and support for the community in their application portfolios. Three students from high schools in the valley were recently awarded these scholarships. Riley Gellhaus and Shannon Frucci, both of East Valley High School, each received a $2,000 award to attend Community Colleges of Spokane. Riley plans to go into Aerospace Engineering and Shannon intends to pursue a career in Physical Therapy
Cameron Blegen, a University High School senior, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship that he will apply to Montana State University. Cameron’s goal is to major in Computer Science and Engineering.
Congratulations to Riley, Shannon and Cameron!
