Spokane Area Students “Secure” Their CyberPatriot Status!

CyberPatriot Competition

Congratulations to the CyberPatriot teams in the Spokane region eligible to compete in the State, Regional and National CyberPatriot competitions in the next few months! The CyberPatriot program is a unique club celebrating the values of STEM, with a spotlight on cyber security education. Established by the Air Force Association, the CyberPatriot program allows teams of students to play the part of newly hired IT professionals, tasking them with the destruction of cyber threats, and the remediation of security vulnerabilities in their new systems!

The CyberPatriot program is spreading (like a computer virus?!) across our region, with strongholds in several local schools! Teams from Central Valley High School, Cheney High School, Coeur D’Alene CAP Services, Ferris High School, Lewis & Clark High School, North Central High School, Northwest Christian High School, and Rogers High School qualified to compete in the State Competition late January. Central Valley High School teams have performed exceptionally well, with four teams qualifying in the highest competition tier.
