East Valley CTE Presents Middle School “Find My Fit Fair”

In an effort to entertain and inform the 8th graders at East Valley Middle School, the East Valley CTE department put on a course and activities fair. The idea was to bring the elective courses and student organizations of the high school Career and Technical Education department to the students of the middle school.

The fair was “carnival style” with tosses, spins, drops, guesses, and tries; with loads of candy, cookies, smiles, and giggles. The desired result was achieved with lots of interaction between high school and middle school students, as the eighth graders prepared to “Find Their Fit” before they register for their freshman-year classes the following week.

The CTE programs represented were: Agriculture (FFA), American Sign Language (ASL), Business and Marketing (DECA and FBLA), Computer Sciences (FBLA), Family and Consumer Sciences, Robotics, Manufacturing and Fabrication, and Yearbook/Photography. In addition, INTEC, SCC, EWU, and Whitworth were also getting their messages across to the incoming 9th graders.
