MJ Bolt has been active in the Spokane Valley community and especially focused on educational initiatives. She co-founded a local outreach program to help students who are homeless or in temporary and/or transitional housing, the Council HEART in Hand Outreach, and co-founded the Greater Valley Support Network, bringing awareness and solutions for the most needy in our community. MJ has been active in several local school and district Parent Teacher Associations, including serving two years as a service specialist for Washington State PTA Region 15 and co-chairing the CVSD Citizen Levy Campaign, for which she received the 2010 Central Valley School District Meritorious Award. MJ also served as co-chair of the GSVCC Business Education Committee.
MJ attended the University of Iowa and Eastern Washington University and now lives in Spokane Valley with her husband and two children. Though not active currently, she has been a golf instructor for many years.
After serving on the Central Valley School Board from 2011-2015, MJ has been an elected Eastern Washington representative to the Washington State Board of Education since 2016. She is a community representative for the Spokane Valley CTE GAC and feels strongly about the value that CTE brings to educational opportunities. She is passionate about high-quality education for all Washington students and for an equitable education system to help fully equip achievers for tomorrow.
